Since its inception, I was eager to join the Section of Pharmacy Educators to collaborate with individuals across the country to help create resources through ASHP for students, preceptors, and colleges of pharmacy. It has been a joy to work with others in academia within ASHP, to think creatively, and develop resources. ASHP includes many preceptor members, and the resources ASHP can provide to help educate and advance precepting are endless. This section excellently facilitates the collaboration between the world of education within colleges of pharmacy and the world of pharmacy practice within health systems, to advance learning experiences in the field. As pharmacy education and pharmacy practice continue to evolve, it is important for this section to discuss and stay ahead of the changes and to bridge the gap between formal education and clinical practice. Through this section, we invest in the future of pharmacy while focusing on the development of preceptors and students. ASHP has been a great organizational home to me, and I look forward to continuing to give back with my time and talent. I have a passion for education and would be honored to serve on the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Educators Executive Committee.
