Health-System Specialty Pharmacy has exponentially grown over the past decade and continues to evolve. The future of health-system specialty pharmacy includes ensuring sustainability of the workforce and infrastructure, financial stewardship, and the creation of recognized benchmarks. Collaboration with not only ASHP SSPP membership but across different sections can help to foster discussions that establish best practices and lead to successful growth and long-term sustainability. My involvement in ASHP from student to resident to practitioner, has supported my own professional development providing resources at each phase. In the face of specialty pharmacy challenges and opportunities, the value ASHP membership and the SSPP as a collective bring can help advocate for health system specialty pharmacy and overcome issues we face together with strength. As a servant leader I hope to help move the needle in efforts surrounding key issues within health-system specialty pharmacies, fostering more connections through ASHP across a variety of venues, both virtually and in person at national meetings. We must continue to advocate for transparency in drug pricing, reimbursement and patient access, and ensure we create solutions to the evolving responsibilities health-system specialty pharmacies are faced with. This can be achieved through collaboration, research, networking, and producing best practice guidelines.
I'm inspired by the engagement and dedication within the SSPP and ASHP membership as a whole. As Director-at-Large nominee, I am honored to have the opportunity to further serve this organization that has shaped my career. If elected, I will strive to promote health-system specialty pharmacy's growth and advancement.
