Mandy LeonardMandy Leonard, PharmD, BCPS is Senior Director, Pharmacy Clinical Services, Drug Use Policy and Formulary Management for Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her BS in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed a Drug Information Practice Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. For the past 28 years, Dr. Leonard has overseen the Department of Pharmacy Drug Information Service at Cleveland Clinic. She is responsible for drug shortages, drug recalls, REMS programs, drug use policy and formulary management for the Cleveland Clinic Health-System. Dr. Leonard is also responsible for developing the drug budget annually and initiating and tracking drug cost savings initiatives. Recently, she was put in charge of Pharmacy Clinical Services for the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise. Dr. Leonard is an Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She is also a contract lead residency surveyor for ASHP. Dr. Leonard has numerous local, state, national, and international presentations. She has published papers on formulary management, P&T systems, and biosimilars. Dr. Leonard has also served as the president of the Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy (2003-2004) and the Educational Affairs Director for the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists (2020-2022).

Heidi TrinkmanHeidi Trinkman, PharmD, BCOP is the Advanced Therapeutics Program Manager at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Trinkman received her BS degree in pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and her PharmD from The University of Oklahoma. She then completed a “specialty” residency in oncology from The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Prior to her current role, Dr. Trinkman was clinical pharmacy specialist for Cook Children’s Medical Center for over 18 years, specializing in hematology, oncology, stem cell transplant and cellular therapies. In her current role, Dr. Trinkman is responsible for managing and recruiting therapeutic options such as gene and cellular therapies for the organization. She also implemented and expanded the pharmacogenomics service for the system. Dr. Trinkman sits on numerous hospital committees and is active in on-going research projects involving precision medicine and pharmacogenomics. Dr. Trinkman has been published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. She is an accomplished speaker and has presented at local and national meetings as well as to students at the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Pharmacy. She is an active member of multiple national organizations including ASHP and Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). Dr. Trinkman has been a member of Children’s Oncology Group for 20 years and is currently serving on their pharmacy steering committee.

Emilie AschenbrennerEmilie Aschenbrenner, PharmD, BCOP is the Pharmacy Program Lead for Cell and Gene Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant at the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Dr. Aschenbrenner earned her Bachelors in Biochemistry from Carroll College followed by her PharmD at the University of Madison, Wisconsin. She completed residency at Froedtert and MCW and has practiced there for over 15 years. Dr. Aschenbrenner is actively involved in many institutional and national committees including the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), American Society for Transplant and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), American Society for Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP) and serves on working committees as well as a recent appointment to the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Network (CTN) committee. She is currently involved in partnering with clinical research for bispecific T-cell engagers and cellular therapy including the management of ICANS and HLH-like toxicities.

Bradley BeckBradley Beck, PharmD, MBA, BCOP is the pharmacy manager for revenue integrity and infusion services at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Beck’s job roles include oversight of pharmacy related infusion services, improving the patient experience in the infusion setting, and supporting where and how patients are treated throughout the Avera footprint. Dr. Beck also provides administrative oversight for the oncology pharmacy team within Avera Health, including helping evaluate new and complex therapies, cellular therapies, and gene therapies for their role within the health system. Dr. Beck was previously the residency program director for the PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency program at Avera McKennan Hospital, served as an author of a textbook chapter, presented on improvements in patient care at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, served as a member of a committee for continuing education for HOPA, and worked with multiple patient focus groups to improve patient care in the Avera Health network.

Jill BlindJill Blind, PharmD, MBA, CCRP is Pharmacy Manager for the Translational Drug Service and Controlled Substance teams at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Youngstown State University. Dr. Blind is a Certified Clinical Research Professional through the Society of Clinical Research Associates. She has over 15 years’ experience developing and publishing guidelines on the best practice standards for the pharmaceutical handling of gene and cell therapies, while overseeing hundreds of viral vector and cell-based clinical research infusions. In her current role, Dr. Blind’s practice interests include regulatory compliance, advancing pharmacy practice through translational research operations, and integrating gene and cell therapies into the medication use process.

Jill BlindKara Curry, MA, RN, HEC-C is Senior Policy and Ethics Advisor at the American Nurses Association’s Center for Ethics and Human Rights, where she brings a blend of clinical insight, ethical expertise, and a deep commitment to advancing integrity in healthcare. Her clinical background as a nurse spans surgical oncology, forensic nursing, and perioperative nursing. As an inaugural member of a hospital-wide nurse ethics committee, Ms. Curry discovered a passion for navigating the gray areas of clinical decision-making and advocating for ethically sound practice. This experience propelled her to pursue graduate studies in bioethics, earning a Master of Arts in Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago. Ms. Curry went on to serve as a pediatric clinical ethicist in Washington, DC, where she developed an expanded lens to the nuanced ethical challenges inherent in caring for children and families. She is published in the American Journal of Bioethics, the American Nurse Journal, and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Hospital Pediatrics, contributing to national conversations on the evolving ethical landscape of healthcare.

Ashley DaltonAshley Dalton, PharmD, MHA is Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer for Ambulatory Infusion at UC San Diego Health, where she has held progressive leadership roles since 2005. She earned her PharmD from the University of Kansas, completed residency at UC San Diego Health, and holds an MHA from Simmons College. Among her many roles at UC San Diego Health, Dr. Dalton co-chairs the Oncology Subcommittee of P&T and serves as a key member on the High-Cost Drugs Committee, focusing on policy and operational strategies for complex and novel therapies, including cell and gene treatments. Her expertise in pharmacy operations, infusion services, and high-cost drug management positions her to advance safe, effective, and equitable access to next-generation therapeutics.

Casey DuganCasey Dugan, PharmD, MBA serves as Vice President of Pharmacy Services at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Dugan earned his PharmD from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis and completed his residency training at Saint Louis University Hospital. He also holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. With more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy leadership, Dr. Dugan has spearheaded strategic initiatives that expanded pharmacy services across inpatient and ambulatory settings, including the opening of three new hospitals, a specialty pharmacy, and an outpatient pharmacy. He has also supported the growth of one of the nation’s largest pediatric-specific residency training programs. In recognition of his contributions to advancing pharmacy practice, Dr. Dugan received the Excellence in Pharmacy Award from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2021.

Philip EmpeyPhilip Empey, PharmD, PhD, FCCP is the Associate Director of the Institute for Precision Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC and an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy. He directs the Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence and leads the PreCISE-Rx and Test2Learn teams to implement pharmacogenomics clinical, research, and educational initiatives. As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Empey conducts NIH-funded clinical and translational research aimed at understanding the mechanisms of the variability in drug response to improve medication-related outcomes.

Wendy GalbraithWendy Galbraith, PharmD, BCNP, FAPhA is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. A Board-Certified nuclear pharmacist for more than 27 years, she directs the Nuclear Pharmacy track and serves as Radiochemistry Laboratory Lead Nuclear Pharmacist, supporting both clinical and research radiopharmaceutical production, including PET and SPECT agents. Dr. Galbraith has led multi center radiopharmaceutical trials and IND programs as PI or Co Investigator, integrating radiopharmaceutical preparation, quality control, and site training into complex oncology, cardiovascular, and hematology imaging protocols. Nationally, she serves on the USP Radiopharmaceutical Compounding Expert Panel, has participated in FDA listening sessions on radiopharmaceutical compounding, and holds patents related to radiopharmaceutical kit design and radioactive containment technologies, reflecting her focus on quality, safety, and innovation in next generation theranostic practice.

Zahra MahmoudjafariZahra Mahmoudjafari, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, FHOPA is Clinical Pharmacy Manager in the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics (HMCT) at the University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS). Dr. Mahmoudjafari earned her PharmD and MBA from the UMKC School of Pharmacy and the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. She has more than 15 years of experience in hospital operations, clinical practice, and developing clinical programs with a focus on clinical management, drug formulary management, and operationalization of cell and gene therapies. She has been actively involved with strategic planning, development, and implementation of the TUKHS cellular therapy program to deliver commercial and investigational cellular therapies. She maintains active organizational involvement and has presented nationally on several topics with an extensive publication record of abstracts and papers. Dr. Mahmoudjafari currently serves on the HOPA Board of Directors as Secretary and as the Editor in Chief for Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology publication.

Danielle PennockDanielle Pennock, PharmD, MBA is Clinical Coordinator specializing in cell and gene therapy at Johns Hopkins Care at Home. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and completed the PGY 1/2 Community Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency at Johns Hopkins Care at Home, while concurrently earning an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She previously served as Lead Pharmacist and Regulatory Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the outpatient specialty pharmacy program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In her current role, Dr. Pennock coordinates commercial gene therapy treatments across multiple service lines, including Neurology and Hematology, and leads strategic projects for cell and gene therapy expansion and new service line implementation throughout the health system.

Scott SoefjeScott A. Soefje, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, FCCP, FHOPA is the Director, Cancer Care Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic and an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, MN. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin followed by a PharmD from the joint program at UT Austin and The UT Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He completed an ASHP Accredited Specialty Residency in Oncology Pharmacy at the South Texas Veterans Hospital and then a Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at the U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He has obtained an MBA focusing on healthcare from George Washington University and is Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy. Dr. Soefje is a past president of the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) and has been recognized as a Fellow of both the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and HOPA.

Mark SullivanMark Sullivan, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, FASHP is Senior Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer for Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a B.S. Biology at University of Tennessee at Martin, followed by B.S. Pharmacy at Auburn University. Subsequently, Dr. Sullivan completed his MBA at Belmont University and his PharmD through the University of Mississippi. As the Chief Pharmacy Officer for Vanderbilt Health, Dr. Sullivan has supported continued growth in ambulatory pharmacy services as well as growth in hospital and clinic programs supporting integration of the regional hospital pharmacy practice into campus practice and optimization of ambulatory infusion business line. Dr. Sullivan has practiced in several pharmacy areas, including pharmacy operations and clinical practice, serving as one of the early clinical pharmacists in stem cell and solid organ transplant at Vanderbilt. He has served as an invited member of the USP Safe Medication Use committee, and as an elected Director at Large for the Executive Committee of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders. Prior to his executive committee service, Dr. Sullivan served in ASHP leadership roles on the Commission on Affiliation Relations, and on the Practice Managers Section Advisory group on communications and manager development. Locally, he served as the inaugural chair of the Tennessee Hospital Association Pharmacist Collaborative and is past president of the Tennessee Society of Health System Pharmacists. Dr. Sullivan holds faculty appointments at the University of Tennessee, Belmont University and Lipscomb University Colleges of Pharmacy.

John ValgusJohn Valgus, PharmD, MHA is an Executive Director of Pharmacy for UNC Health and Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Valgus received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He completed his Pharmacy Practice and Hematology/Oncology Residency training at UNC Hospitals. He also completed a Fellowship in Pharmacogenetics as part of a collaboration between GlaxoSmithKline and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. After completing his formalized training, Dr. Valgus served as an acute care clinical pharmacist in Hematology/Oncology for six years before receiving a North Carolina Cancer Research Fund Clinical Innovation Grant to start a pharmacist-led interdisciplinary cancer support program where he served as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner until 2014. After completing his master’s in healthcare administration from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, Dr. Valgus moved into a formalized leadership role at UNC Health as the Cancer Hospital Infusion/Inpatient Pharmacy Manager. Since that time Dr. Valgus has served in various leadership roles including Director of Pharmacy for Oncology, Children’s, and Home Infusion Pharmacy Services.

Anna Bieniek WienerAnna Wiener, PharmD, MS is the Regulatory Compliance, Medication Safety, and Quality Assurance Program Manager for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Department of Pharmacy Services. Dr. Wiener received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University - Chicago College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY-1/PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina and earned her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Wiener currently serves as Chair of the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Section Advisory Group on Medication Safety.

Kevin ZinchukKevin Zinchuk, PharmD, CCRP is Manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Investigational Drug Service. Dr. Zinchuk graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2011 with a Doctorate in Pharmacy. In 2023 he obtained a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) credential through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA). In his current role, Dr. Zinchuk has collaborated closely with hundreds of researchers in both the public and private sectors to conceptualize, develop and operationalize interventional clinical trials. Dr. Zinchuk has held membership and leadership positions on many local, regional, and national committees, consistently working to improve overall pharmacy operations, clinical trial practice and patient care. He has enjoyed precepting numerous pharmacy students and residents and is the Program Director for BWH’s PGY2 Investigational Drugs and Research residency. Dr. Zinchuk has published and presented many educational sessions, posters and manuscripts on investigational drug and compounding practice. Dr. Zinchuk is an active member of ASHP’s Section for Clinical Specialists and Scientists Emerging Sciences Section Advisory Group.
