Residency directors at an academic medical center will discuss precepting and developing their PGY1 and PGY2 residents during COVID-19. Speakers will share lessons learned during COVID-19 and strategies that will be carried forward to subsequent residency classes. Current PGY1 and PGY2 residents will discuss opportunities COVID-19 has afforded them and resiliency strategies employed.
SPEAKERS
Aqsa Adnan is the current PGY-1 Specialty Pharmacy Practice Resident at Emory University Hospital Midtown located in Atlanta, GA. She completed her undergraduate training at Kennesaw State University and pharmacy school training at Mercer University College of Pharmacy in 2020. After completion of her PGY1 residency, she will be continuing my pharmacy training at Emory where she will be pursuing a PGY2 residency focusing in Oncology. She is a trainee member in the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association and also hold membership in the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists as well as the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists organization.
Danielle Schlafer, PharmD, BCOP is a clinical pharmacy specialist in leukemia at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. She completed her PharmD at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residency at Emory University Hospital. She serves as residency program director for the PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residency and precepts pharmacy residents and students. Her professional interests include hematologic malignancies, targeted therapies, infectious diseases, and access to care.
Katherine G. Fuller, PharmD, BCACP, BCPS, PhC is a graduate of Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy. Dr. Fuller completed her PGY1 Residency at the University of New Mexico Hospitals and PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at Duke University Hospital. Since moving to Atlanta, Georgia, she has worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Emory University Hospital Midtown Center for Viral Hepatitis. Dr. Fuller is a PGY1 residency director and precepts multiple residents and students on her ambulatory care rotation.
Dr. Kristina Murphy is a current PGY2 oncology resident at Emory Healthcare. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and completed her PGY1 hospital based specialty pharmacy focused residency Emory Healthcare. After completion of her PGY-2 residency program, Kristina will be staying on at Emory as a bone marrow transplant clinical specialist rotating between the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Alyssa Billmeyer, PharmD, MHA is the current Specialty Pharmacy Manager at Emory University Hospital Midtown and has been in role since Fall 2018. Alyssa graduate with her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa in 2016, and went on to complete a two-year Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency and Masters of Healthcare Administration degree at Froedtert Health directly after. Alyssa’s professional interests include specialty pharmacy, transitions of care, pharmacy practice models, and professional/personal development.
