- Fresenius Kabi did not provide a reason for the shortage.
- Sagent did not provide a reason for the shortage.
- Slate Run Pharma has azithromycin on allocation due to increased demand.
- Sun Pharma has azithromycin on shortage due to manufacturing delays from lack of active ingredient.
- Pfizer discontinued Zithromax in January 2026.

Estimated Resupply Dates

- Eugia has azithromycin 500 mg vials on intermittent back order and the company is releasing product as it becomes available.
- Fresenius Kabi has azithromycin 500 mg vials on back order and the company estimates a release date of mid- to late-January 2026.
- Sagent has azithromycin 500 mg vials on allocation.
- Slate Run Pharma has azithromycin 500 mg vials on allocation.
- Sun Pharma has azithromycin 500 mg vials available in limited supply.
