Reasons for selecting this career path
The career path rather selected me. Over 20 years ago, I went to pick up a prescription at retail pharmacy and the pharmacist offered me a job on the spot. Soon, I found that I really enjoyed working in the field and grew to have a great passion for the work I do. I have been fortunate enough to experience the many practices settings that encompass the world of pharmacy and I still love my job today. Who would have guessed that my career path would unfold in so many different areas and lead me to where I am currently.
Professional Interests
I love the program design and development work I do with our clinical programs. I have an opportunity to work with our partners in the field and help them interface with members and providers. My work offers a unique experience that allows me to see the program development from beginning to end, which I do not think most people get to experience.
Interest in the PTF Executive Committee
I am not only honored, but also grateful to have an opportunity to be able to continue my advocacy for the important work technicians do today through this committee. I am excited about the expansion of the pharmacy technician role in today’s pharmacy industry and feel confident that the PTF executive committee can contribute in a powerful and meaningful way to help shape future of our technicians.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a Pharmacy Technician
It is great to be part of such a well-respected national organization that recognizes the value brought to our profession by pharmacy technicians. I am pleased to be able to collaborate with fellow members to help craft the future role of pharmacy technicians within the organization.
Fun Fact
When not working, I am an avid runner that endures long miles in the hot Florida sun. I recently have run two marathons (New York and Chicago) and countless half marathons. I also love to travel and I plan to run the Berlin marathon in 2020. It is great to be able to combine two of my favorite interests into one…
