Reasons for selecting this career path and professional interests:
My passion for helping others led me to purse pharmacy as a career. My leadership involvement in sports, pharmacy school, and residency led me to pursue formal leadership training through a Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency.
Professional Interests:
Hospital Pharmacy Operations
Management and Leadership Development
Medication Safety and Quality
Professional Organization Involvement
Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee:
I have had the opportunity to be involved with ASHP in several different capacities as a student and resident on the Pharmacy Student Forum, New Practitioner Forum, and the Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents’ Collaborative. All of these experiences have granted me the opportunity to meet and network with pharmacy students and pharmacists across the country. My interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee peaked when I saw the huge benefit that ASHP can provide their members, and I wanted the opportunity to put ideas into action and play my part in advancing the pharmacy profession on a larger scale.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner:
Being involved with ASHP as a New Practitioner allows you to meet and learn from peers across the country and provides a place for collaboration and professional development as you transition to the world of pharmacy practice. I have experienced first-hand the benefits of the New Practitioner Forum and how being involved can help you develop skills that are necessary to succeed in the pharmacy profession.
