Professional Interests
My professional interests include ambulatory care, primary care, leadership, and mentorship. I am passionate about ambulatory care pharmacy because I believe building rapport with patients is a critical component to best serving them.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I originally joined ASHP because of the opportunities for professional development and residency preparation. I quickly learned how valuable leadership roles in this organization could be and enjoy the opportunity to be highly involved in decision making, while also giving back to the organization!
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
Just jump in! Whether it be at the school level or joining one of the ASHP forums or sections, you won't regret taking part!
What unique characteristic/perspective do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
I am passionate about the ambulatory care setting and keep the importance of advocating for both patients and the advancement of our profession at the forefront of my daily priorities.
What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
I enjoy yoga, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. A fun fact about me is that I helped train a service dog, who went on to become a diabetic alert dog.
What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
My biggest piece of advice is to get involved in leadership and pharmacy organizations early. This truly helps to enrich your experience, network with other pharmacists, and grow in the profession.
