Reasons for selecting this career path and professional interests: I knew that I wanted to be a pharmacist in early high school after completing a shadowing experience. I saw how crucial pharmacists were in providing care for patients. During my final year of pharmacy school, I learned more about pharmacy leadership, and I saw how leaders were able to break down barriers and continue to find innovative ways to provide care for patients. These experiences led me to pursue a pharmacy career and additional leadership training.
Professional Interests:
- Infusion Operations Management
- Ambulatory care
- Practice Advancement
- Professional Development
Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee: I was able to learn more about ASHP and ways to get involved from a mentor. I have had the opportunity to serve on the ASHP’s New Practitioner Forum Career and Leadership Advisory Group, and this involvement has allowed me to meet many pharmacists from across the country. My interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee stemmed from the many great opportunities that I have already has as an ASHP and NPF member, and I hope to help create additional opportunities for New Practitioners to get involved in the profession. I am passionate about professional development and pharmacy growth, and I am excited to utilize what I have learned and continue to give back to the profession and this organization.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner: ASHP and the NPF creates a great platform for pharmacists to meet and learn from each other during their transition into the pharmacy world. There are opportunities to collaborate, learn, and gain knowledge from all the resources that are created from ASHP members. I have personally developed new skills and found unique resources to help during my own transition into pharmacy practice.
