Professional Interests
My professional interests include research in advance heart failure therapies, arrhythmias, and anticoagulation, pharmacy education, and precepting.
I love all things cardiology related! Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and there are SO many landmark cardiology trials and guidelines that allow me to make evidence based, morbidity and mortality reducing interventions on a daily basis. I also love teaching and have the privilege of teaching future pharmacy students about the area in pharmacy I am most passionate about.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
Advocacy for pharmacy education and mentorship are two strong interests of mine. As a student I was actively involved with ASHP but as I started my pharmacy career I knew I wanted to become more involved. The NPF advisory groups allow for building connections with other new practitioners and to give back to ASHP by collaborating on projects and deliverables that are available to current members.
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
There are multiple ways to get involved with ASHP! There are opportunities at all levels of training, including students, new pharmacists and seasoned practitioners. I would encourage all members to check out the Member Center on ASHP's website for ways to get involved.
What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy biking, traveling, and anything Disney! A fun fact about me is that I used to competitively figure skate.
