Professional Interests
I have found that I am passionate about caring for underserved populations. I've had the opportunity to rotate through a correctional facility as well as work with populations experiencing homelessness and found how pharmacists can be integrated into helping these populations get on their feet. My other professional interests include pharmacy operations, drug diversion, and 340B.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I became involved in ASHP as a way to network with others who are experiencing the same things I am and knowing how small of a world pharmacy is, I hope to gain long-lasting relationships with my fellow pharmacists.
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
Even if you are nervous to get involved, a good starting place is to apply for an advisory group that you have even the slightest interest in.
What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
Currently, I enjoy going to the lake with my dog to teach him how to swim!
What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
Try things that scare you. I feel like I have grown the most both professionally and personally when in situations I was most uncomfortable in at the time.
