Professional Interests
My professional interests include trauma, medical emergencies, and medication safety. Teaching medical residents has also become a passion of mine by directly educating team members I work with on a daily basis which in return improves patient care by spreading valuable knowledge from a pharmacist’s perspective.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
ASHP is the perfect environment for me to continue growing as a pharmacist, experiencing the collaboration and support of new practitioners and fostering relationships to create a professional network with other pharmacists, which I could then utilize to the benefit of the profession of pharmacy through developing resources for residents, new practitioners, and clinical specialists.
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
Don't be afraid to ask questions and put yourself out there!
What unique characteristic/perspective do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
I have a unique background in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, allowing me to bring a more hands-on approach to patient care.
What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
Orange Theory Fitness, hiking, and spending time with family and friends (especially my kitties and puppy!)
What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
Imposter Syndrome is real; embrace the unknown and get comfortable being uncomfortable!
