Dr. Boh (soon to be Delahay) completed a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL and received her PharmD from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 at the Memphis VA Medical Center in Tennessee, and a PGY2 in Ambulatory Care at the North Chicago VA/DoD. During residency she also completed a Master of Public Health at Florida International University.

She currently is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in primary care, precepting students (APPE/IPPE) and residents.

Describe the facility where you work:
The Washington DC VA Medical Center services U.S. military veterans in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Dr. Boh is currently practicing at one of the several Community Based Outpatient Clinics of the main DC facility, located in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. The Charlotte Hall CBOC provides several services including 4 primary care providers, 1 clinical pharmacist practitioner, optometry, ophthalmology, audiology, physical therapy, mental health, and dental.

Recent Significant Projects:
Over the past year, Dr. Boh has been the site pharmacy co-champion for Washington DC to implement and expand Pharmacogenomics testing through an 11-gene panel. In addition, Dr. Boh is precepting resident research on GLP-1 agonist efficacy in weight loss.

Initial Involvement in ASHP:
Currently, Dr. Boh is an ASHP preceptor, mentor, and a member of the Section of Ambulatory Care Advisory Group on Ambulatory Care Pharmacotherapy.

Why did you become involved in ASHP?
Advocating for the profession, participating in discussions that affect ambulatory care practice, keeping up-to-date on the latest clinical and policy information.

Advice for someone new to specialty area:
Primary care is truly a jack-of-all-trades area. While diabetes and hypertension are the most common disease states managed, the flexibility to manage other disease states can improve patient experience and outcomes in a variety of other disease states including asthma, COPD, smoking cessation, heart failure, weight management, gout, pain, and depression. Being open to managing multiple major disease states allows for safer medication management and reduced polypharmacy.

How would you explain the value of ASHP to a friend or colleague?
ASHP allows for networking and collaboration beyond the immediate workplace to help with advancing the profession as well as individual growth and development.

What is the value of ASHP for the profession?
ASHP assists with prioritizing issues, influencing institutions and policymakers to maximize beneficial health outcomes and optimize pharmacist participation in the healthcare team.
