Professional Interests
My professional interests include critical care and nutrition support. I am very passionate about parenteral nutrition. I believe that as pharmacists we have such an integral role in the wholistic care of our patients, and this includes their nutritional needs. We have such a unique opportunity to utilize our knowledge to provide our expertise in an area that not all members of the healthcare team are as familiar with.

Why did you become involved in ASHP?
As a student pharmacist, ASHP provided me with so many opportunities to pursue leadership both locally within my school and nationally within the organization. I felt that ASHP provided me with the best opportunities to get involved, as well as equipping me to be successful in residency.

What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
If they are a student pharmacist, I'd tell them to reach out to leadership within their school of pharmacy to learn more about getting involved, but if not, I'd recommend to use the member center on ASHP's website.

What unique characteristics do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
As a PGY1 pharmacy resident, I have the incredible opportunity to use the knowledge I have fresh out of pharmacy school and learn how to really apply that in my own practice as a new pharmacist. I am able to see things through the lens of someone who is eager to learn and passionate about patient care.

What are some of your interests or hobbies outside of pharmacy?
I love to travel with my husband, do puzzles, try new restaurants, and play with my niece.

What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
I would recommend pushing yourself into areas that will get you out of your comfort zone because ultimately that will shape you from a good practitioner to a great practitioner.
