Current ASHP Involvement: Membership and Outreach (MOAG)

Reason for ASHP involvement: I got involved with ASHP because I wanted to stay connected to the bigger picture of pharmacy beyond my day-to-day. It felt like the best way to grow early in my career, meet people who inspire me, and plug into work that pushes the profession forward.

Value of ASHP for Peers or Colleagues: Honestly, it is the easiest way to feel supported as a new pharmacist. The resources, mentorship, and networking are unmatched, and it gives you a community that understands exactly where you are in your career. It has also helped me stay on top of practice changes and find opportunities I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.

Professional Interests and Passions: I’ve always gravitated toward ambulatory care and chronic disease management, especially cardiology. I love the relationship-building aspect and the long-term impact we can have when we consistently follow patients and improve their care over time. There’s something really rewarding about helping people navigate complicated health issues with more confidence.

Advice for other New Practitioners: Don’t be afraid to say yes to things that stretch you a little. Find mentors early; people genuinely want to help you succeed. And give yourself room to grow; the first few years are chaotic in all the best ways, and you learn so much by just jumping in and trying.

Unique Characteristics or Perspectives: I thrive in collaborative, “let’s figure this out together” environments. I’m good at bringing structure to new services and finding practical solutions that genuinely make life easier for patients and the team. I also try to lead with empathy; it goes a long way in both patient care and interprofessional relationships.

Other Interests or Hobbies: Outside of work, I love traveling, reading, kayaking, antiquing, and spending time with friends/family.
