Current ASHP Involvement: New Practitioner Forum Executive committee member - CPAG member.

Reason for ASHP involvement: I became involved in ASHP because it gave me a sense of professional belonging. I’ve always appreciated being able to talk through ideas and everyday challenges with people across the country who understand the work. ASHP also puts a strong emphasis on education with the residency guidance and advocacy for the profession, which aligns with what matters to me and how I want to contribute to the future.

Value of ASHP for Peers or Colleagues: I’d explain that my involvement in ASHP and the New Practitioners Forum has opened the door to meeting people I never would have crossed paths with otherwise, people from all over the country who approach problems differently and push my thinking. Those connections have played a big role in how I’ve grown, both in what I know and how I lead. The value really comes from learning alongside others who are trying to make their systems better and being able to bring that shared knowledge back to the work I do every day.

Professional Interests and Passions: My professional interests sit at the intersection of leadership, clinical work, and operations. I’m drawn to understanding how systems function and how small, thoughtful changes can improve care for patients and make daily work easier for staff. I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who invested in me along the way, and that’s a big part of why I’m so passionate about developing learners and growing the next generation of pharmacists and leaders. I get a lot of energy from helping people find their direction, building structures that support their growth, and creating an environment where curiosity and accountability can coexist.

Advice for other New Practitioners: Stay connected to the profession. Connection can take many different forms throughout your career, and it doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Find the version that fits your current season of life, whether that’s engaging in professional organizations, leaning on mentors, collaborating with peers, or simply staying curious and involved in the work you do each day. The key is to remain engaged in a way that is sustainable and meaningful to you.

Unique Characteristics or Perspectives: Colleagues have shared that I’m good at breaking problems down and helping teams find practical solutions that work for the people doing the job. I try to approach everything with curiosity and a steady, supportive presence, oftentimes listening first, learning from others, and contributing where I can. That blend of systems thinking and people-focused collaboration is what guides how I show up each day.

Other Interests or Hobbies: My interests and hobbies include traveling, fishing, going to concerts, trying new cuisines, and laser burning.
