Current ASHP Involvement: Membership and Outreach (MOAG)

Reason for ASHP involvement: I decided to join ASHP because early mentors in pharmacy school encouraged me to get involved with the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists as a P1, where I quickly discovered how much I valued professional engagement. That experience inspired me to serve as our ASHP-SSHP President-Elect and President, participate in the Pharmacy Student Forum, complete an APPE rotation with ASHP, and serve on an ASHP council as a student. Each step reinforced the impact of ASHP’s community and ultimately led me to continue my involvement as a pharmacist through the New Practitioner Forum.

Value of ASHP for Peers or Colleagues: I value my involvement in ASHP because it allows me to connect with pharmacists across the country, stay current on important pharmacy-related issues, and give back by mentoring students and residents. It’s a community that continually supports my growth while allowing me to support others.

Professional Interests and Passions: I am most passionate about transplant pharmacy, with specific interests in opportunistic infections, multiorgan transplantation, and patient-individualized optimization of immunosuppression. This area excites me because it combines complex clinical decision-making with the opportunity to meaningfully impact patients’ long-term outcomes.

Advice for other New Practitioners: Say yes to new experiences that genuinely interest you, even if they feel intimidating at first. You never know what opportunities they may open for you in the future.

Unique Characteristics or Perspectives: Having recently transitioned to a new position, I bring the perspective of working at different transplant centers, each with its own unique practices and approaches. This helps me offer fresh insights and contribute to optimizing patient care by drawing from diverse transplant experiences.

Other Interests or Hobbies: Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy playing pickleball and tennis, cooking, and traveling.
