Member Since: I have been a member since August of 2023.

Current Involvement: I am currently Chair of the ASHP Pharmacy Student ForumCareer and Leadership DevelopmentAdvisory Group.

Favorite Part of ASHP Student Membership: My favorite part of my ASHP student membership has been the access to meaningful leadership development, and opportunities to contribute at both the national and state levels. ASHP has enabled me to move from passive membership to active engagement through work groups, advisory groups, and initiatives that shape the student pharmacist experience. The mentorship, exposure to health system pharmacy leaders, and strong support from state affiliated organizations have strengthened my professional identity, clinical perspective, and long term career goals.

Favorite ASHP Memory: My favorite memory has been collaborating with student leaders from across the country through the Pharmacy Student Forum and their advisory groups. Working collectively on projects focused on career development and leadership reinforced the impact students can have when given a seat at the table. Building meaningful connections and seeing student ideas translated into tangible programming that can shape someone’s career journey was both empowering and motivating, and it solidified my commitment to service within professional organizations.

Advice for Other Student Pharmacists: My advice is to start early, say yes to opportunities that stretch you, and focus on roles that align with your values rather than titles alone. National involvement is most meaningful when students show up consistently, are reliable, and follow through on commitments. Even small roles can lead to significant and unexpected opportunities when approached with intention, professionalism, and openness to mentorship.
