Charnae Ross serves as the enterprise pharmacy regulatory manager at New York Presbyterian, where she ensures regulatory compliance with USP chapters and The Joint Commission standards across 10 sites. She also precepts APPE students and residents of the postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) and postgraduate year 2 (PGY2) health system pharmacy administration and leadership residency program.

Ross earned her PharmD from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1/PGY2 health system pharmacy administration and leadership Residency at VCU Health while obtaining her master’s of science in health administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her first position post-residency was a pharmacy operations manager at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, overseeing women’s and children’s services, sterile and nonsterile compounding and central pharmacy operations.

Currently, Ross is a member of the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Compounding Practice Advisory Group. She began her service to the New Practitioners Forum (NPF) in 2018 as a member of the Resident Advancement Advisory Group followed by work group lead of the Clinical Practice Advisory Group. She has served as chair of the Career Development Advisory Group and as vicechair and chair of the NPF Executive Committee. In these roles, Ross contributed to an ASHP journal club podcast episode and journal club template and oversaw the completion of a two-part series of nontraditional pharmacy roles. As vicechair and chair of the NPF, she contributed to restructuring the strategic plan of the forum, lead the initiative to re-engage members of the forum through a social media takeover and developed a continuing education presentation alongside the 2022-2023 NPF Executive Committee. That presentation was presented at the 2023 Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition. Locally, Ross is actively involved in the New York City Society of Health System Pharmacists and was recently elected as secretary.

Ross’ professional interests include sterile and nonsterile compounding compliance, regulatory compliance, controlled substance management and diversion, precepting students and developing new practitioners.
