Why I do what I do?
I am passionate about being a Pharmacy Technician as a profession and seeing where it has and will take me. Also, I am a bit of a nerd and love compliance and policies.
Latest Accomplishment:
I think my biggest accomplishment recently is raising a child to adulthood and everyone survived. Career- wise, it would be helping update our Annual Compliance process and record storage to streamline the process and make it easier for staff and leadership to navigate.
Most Memorable Experience as a Pharmacy Technician:
Being able to attend ASHP Midyear 2019 as a Technician and meeting others that truly value what you bring to the profession.
Why I Became Certified?
The first place I worked offered training and covered the cost of the exam. I thought “what did I have to lose?” What I have learned during the training and saw on the exam, I have used well beyond what I could have imagined.
My Passion Outside of Work or Hobbies:
I love spending time with my daughters and family. I am also a big crafter.
Latest Book Read:
I don’t have time to read much, but I am a huge lover of documentaries. So when I do read it is usually biographical.
Advice to Up-and-Coming Technicians:
Don’t limit yourself or have doubts in what you are capable of. The profession is growing and changing every day and we are the ticket to that growth.
