When did you first join ASHP?
2020 as a P1 student
What is your current involvement with the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum (i.e. advisory group or executive committee appointment)?
I currently serve as the workgroup lead for the SSDAG - Chapter Advancement committee.
What is your favorite part of your ASHP student membership? What has been most beneficial about being a student member of ASHP?
My favorite part of being in ASHP is the connections I have made with other student leaders across the US, and getting to meet them in person at pharmacy meetings like ASHP Midyear. The most beneficial part of being an ASHP Student Member is the Mentor Program and CV Review program that have given me access to pharmacists in my goal field of pharmacy as well as improve my CV to be a better candidate for residency applications!
What is your favorite memory from an ASHP event, project, or program?
My favorite memory is being the student coordinator of our first ever local clinical skills competition! This was a memorable experience as I got to use ASHP resources to plan a successful competition with over 20 teams participating as well as raise funds to distribute prize money to the teams who placed!
What advice do you have for pharmacy students seeking to become involved in national organizations?
Do it and don't hesitate! Join at least ONE national organization during your first year of pharmacy school. Take advantage of their resources, events, and opportunities for being a member.
