When did you first join ASHP?

I joined ASHP during my first year of pharmacy school. I couldn't wait to get connected with other pharmacists and students.

What is your current involvement with the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum (i.e. advisory group or executive committee appointment)?

I am the current Vice Chair of the Pharmacy Student Forum Advancement of Professional Practice Advisory Group.

What is your favorite part of your ASHP student membership? What has been most beneficial about being a student member of ASHP?

My favorite part of my ASHP student membership is the ability to work alongside other pharmacy students across the nation to advance pharmacy practice. I am able to do this through listening to podcasts, participating in conferences, and roundtable discussions, but especially with my involvement in the  Pharmacy Student Forum. I am also involved with the Mentor-Mentee match program, where I am able to connect with outstanding pharmacists who can guide me towards my professional development goals.

What is your favorite memory from an ASHP event, project, or program?

My favorite memory was my 2021 Summer Internship with ASHP because I was able to dive into the ASHP staff culture for 10 weeks. I not only learned how a national organization is run but I was able to create my own podcasts, webinars, toolkits, and informational videos to be published on the ASHP website.

What advice do you have for pharmacy students seeking to become involved in national organizations?

I would encourage all pharmacy students to participate in whatever opportunities you can find (especially those through ASHP) because as you talk with other pharmacists and students, it can help you discover what you are most passionate about. In addition, you gain insight on how to be successful through resources that are provided on the ASHP website.
