When did you first join ASHP?
I joined ASHP July of 2020.
What is your current involvement with the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum (i.e. advisory group or executive committee appointment)?
I am a member of the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice Advisory Group.
What is your favorite part of your ASHP student membership? What has been most beneficial about being a student member of ASHP?
My favorite part of the ASHP student membership is being able to connect with other student pharmacists through committee opportunities and webinars. The Guided Mentorship program provided me with a great mentor to help me navigate through my time in pharmacy school and explore postgraduate options.
What is your favorite memory from an ASHP event, project, or program?
One of my favorite memories from my ASHP Summer Internship was working on the Student Advocacy animated video with my co-interns, Kendall and Khushali! We got to work together to come up with the video concept and script, and then work with ASHP staff to record our voices for the animated characters. It was a very interesting project that touches upon an important topic that students should be aware of!
What advice do you have for pharmacy students seeking to become involved in national organizations?
Seek out pharmacist mentors in the pharmacy field, as well as peer mentors! Upperclassmen have the advantage of being part of the organization for a certain time and can provide insight on how they got involved and are very relevant as they were just in your shoes. In addition, the pharmacy profession has so much to offer so be open-minded and open to opportunities because you will never know where it will lead you!
