Anne Misher
Anne's Story
Dr. Misher received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2014. She then completed PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Ambulatory Care residencies with Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. She is board certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy and Advanced Diabetes Management. Additionally, Dr. Misher is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
Dr. Misher is a member of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committee and also helps to serve as a CV Reviewer.
Facility
Dr. Misher is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and a Clinical Pharmacist at St. Mary’s Health Center in Savannah, Georgia. St. Mary's Health Center is a free outpatient primary care clinic which serves patients without insurance. The clinic completes ~3500 patient visits per year. Dr. Misher practices under a collaborative practice agreement for diabetes management.
Recent Significant Projects
Dr. Misher was involved with implementation of ambulatory care services within St. Mary's Health Center. She established a diabetes management service, vaccine administration service and oversees the health-system's free clinic medication sample closets. Her interests include access to care for underserved patients , pharmacy student impact on patient care and practice advancement.
Becoming Involved in ASHP
Dr. Misher became involved in ASHP to grow her professional network, collaborate with others in ambulatory care and promote the profession of pharmacy.
Advice for Someone New to Specialty Area
"The best advice I could provide to someone new to my specialty area is to identify areas that need the most improvement. By finding true area of need it is easy to demonstrate the benefit of your service and involvement."
