Advice for Someone New to Specialty Area

“Use organizations like ASHP to build a network of pharmacists in your specialty area so you have colleagues with whom you can collaborate! Become familiar with literature in your specialty area. I have been successful in developing clinical practices because I keep up to date on literature related to ambulatory care practice development and evaluation. We can learn so much by reviewing the literature!”

Value of ASHP

"ASHP can be a professional home for pharmacists from a variety of backgrounds. With a focus on health systems, ASHP designs programming to promote collaboration among pharmacists who practice across the continuum of care. ASHP represents pharmacists with interests ranging from home infusion to informatics yet they are organized and focused on a singular vision--to optimize health of patients across the care continuum."
