Geralyn Waters
Geralyn's Story
Geralyn Waters received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (MCPHS) in Worcester, Massachusetts. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia, and a PGY2 Drug Information Residency at University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Dr. Waters is a member of the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Advisory Group on Pharmacy Practice Experiences and a member of the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists Legal Affairs Division.

UC Health is corporate health system comprised of an academic medical center, community hospital, long-term acute care hospital, and psychiatric facility.
Significant Projects
Dr. Waters is a Drug Policy Development Specialist, and provides leadership for UC Health formulary system management for inpatients and ambulatory patients through involvement with the Drug Policy Development Committee and subcommittees. She develops and provides quality assurance for drug monographs, drug class reviews, therapeutic interchanges, guidelines, and policies. Dr. Waters leads a drug shortage task force for the health system, and coordinates actions for shortage mitigation. Dr. Waters precepts pharmacy residents and students in drug policy, medication use evaluations, pharmacoeconomic analyses, literature review, and medication safety. She is an adjunct assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, and provides didactic guest lectures, and facilitates skills lab sessions.
