Initial Involvement in ASHP

“I became involved in ASHP as a pharmacy student as a way to learn more about health system pharmacy. I maintained my involvement as a resident and practicing pharmacist to stay connected with pharmacy practice on the national level.”

Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area

“Be humble and draw on the experiences of others around you, whether that be pharmacists, technicians, or other members of the leadership team. Find a mentor who can help you prioritize effectively and help you figure out when an item requires immediate attention or when to let something go.”

Value of ASHP

“There is a lot that can be learned from the experiences of others across the country and ASHP provides the perfect platform for sharing that knowledge.”

“ASHP is invaluable. It acts as the collective voice for pharmacy at the national level. Without ASHP, advocating for the profession would be a challenge.”
