Melissa’s Story
Melissa Drye, Pharm.D., received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Manchester Campus. She is a member of the SICP Section Advisory Group on Small and Rural Hospitals.

Valley Regional Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital with associated Primary Care and Specialty practices.
Significant Projects
Melissa has been involved in building the oncology program offered through the VRH infusion Suite, upgrading Pyxis, and transitioning to a new electronic medical record.
Initial Involvement in ASHP
“When I became a Director of Pharmacy, I felt that is was really important that I become more rounded in my knowledge of hospital pharmacy clinical programs. ASHP has provided many avenues for me to gain that knowledge.”
Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area
“Critical Access hospital practice provides an opportunity to wear many hats and learn multiple skills that you may not have the chance to learn or be exposed to in a larger organization. Being open to learning those skills will serve you well in the long run.”
