Initial Involvement in ASHP

“I have a very strong belief in contributing to your profession in a global scale. I feel that it can greatly expand the impact we can have as pharmacists. The fact that I personally can contribute to pharmacy at so many different levels from providing a clinical consult for a specific patient, to creating a hospital wide protocol for a certain disease state to helping write a policy for ASHP is such a great opportunity for my professional growth as a leader.”

Value of ASHP

“To me the greatest value of ASHP is resources, learning opportunities and networking. ASHP truly values itself on providing up to date and relevant resources and learning opportunities to its member. I feel that ASHP is constantly expanding these services based on member's needs. For example, ASHP offers excellent opportunities for board certification preparation and re-certification. I also feel that the opportunities I have had to network and meet so many amazing pharmacy professional that has really helped me expand as a professional. “

“I feel that ASHP is always trying to push the advancement of pharmacy. ASHP does this by setting goals such as the 2020 goal of all entry- level pharmacists who will be providing direct patient care being residency trained. ASHP also has a huge advocacy effort for pharmacy around things like provider status and drug pricing.”
