Initial Involvement in ASHP
“Although I've been a member of ASHP since residency, I wanted to increase my contribution to the profession by serving in the Educational Steering Committee SAG. I have experiences to share with others and I look forward to learning from everyone else."
Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area
“As a new practitioner in medication safety, I would suggest getting as much pharmacist experience as possible in addition to learning about quality and safety. Frontline staff members are a great source for identifying medication safety issues and proposing medication safety solutions."
Value of ASHP
“ASHP keeps me informed about legislative, clinical practice, and medication safety issues through multiple venues - AJHP, daily email updates of the Daily Briefing, and ASHP Connect. ASHP also provides networking opportunities that reach across the country. "
“I believe ASHP is the strongest, single most important voice for health-system pharmacy practitioners in terms of defining the future role of pharmacists."
