Recent Significant Projects
I have recently been involved in the implementation of new technology within our health system. We just completed a role out of all new automated dispensing cabinets and are in the process of implementing IV workflow software.
Involvement in ASHP
I currently serve as a Regional Delegate for my state and also as a member of the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Advisory Group on Frontline Leaders.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I became involved in ASHP because I felt that it was important to have a voice in my profession. ASHP gave me a place to network with other pharmacist from all across the nation and share with each other.
Advice for Someone New to Specialty Area
I would advise someone to never be afraid to ask questions. I am always sending emails to other pharmacy leaders at health systems across the state to ask questions. There will always be things that come up that you don't know the answer to and it is okay to reach out to those who have been in role for longer than you have and seek advise and counsel.
How would you explain the value of ASHP to a friend or colleague?
ASHP advocates on behalf of pharmacists, technicians and student pharmacists. They provide a united voice for all of us and provide a place for us to share information and connect.
What is the value of ASHP for the profession?
Being an active member in ASHP has allowed me to serve as a voice for members of my profession through the committees that I serve on and by being a delegate for my state. I have been able to meet and network with other pharmacy professional from across the nation that I would not have otherwise had the opportunity to meet. These are people that I am now able to reach out to with questions or for support.
