Project Description
Our SSHP chapter celebrated PAI Week by hosting a different activity each day during the week. Day one focused on patient centered care so we made goodie bags and pamphlets about the different areas of practice within the pharmacy profession. Day 2 focused on pharmacy technicians so we made goodie bags and handwrote thank you cards for local technicians. Day 3 focused on the role of the pharmacist so we had a faculty member host a session over what he did in practice in regards to patient monitoring. Additionally, students worked together to solve drug monitoring cases. Day four focused on medication use and safety and we hosted a trivia game about the topic. Day five focused on technology and we created a trifold poster about coronavirus and telepharmacy. We kept the trifold in the atrium and many people came to view it.
Describe how your chapter planned the event?
Our PAI week committee and the president-elect worked together to plan out the week. There was a shared google document to work on projects and a GroupMe chat for communication throughout the week.
How did your SSHP Chapter promote the project?
We made flyers and announced it in person at the beginning of class.
When was the event held?
Spring semester, during PAI week
What advice do you have for other SSHP chapters?
Have fun while creating these events. Pharmacy school will fly by so take every opportunity and make the best of it!
