Reasons for selecting this career path and professional interests:
As an immigrant from China, my very first job in this country was as a pharmacy technician. Over the past ten years, I have grown from a new immigrant who barely spoke English to a pharmacy leader. The fulfillment of serving patients and walking alongside them during difficult times, along with the appreciation I have for the pharmacy community that helped me grow in this country, drives me to continue serving and giving back to this profession.
Professional Interests:
- Ambulatory Infusion
- Oncology Pharmacy
- Pharmacy Operation

Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee:
New practitioners are essential for shaping the future of the pharmacy profession. We carry the responsibilities of serving our patients, precepting and educating pharmacy students, leading teams and projects, and advocating for our profession. As new practitioners, we are also at a critical time for continued learning and defining our career paths. As a newly graduated resident, I understand the excitement of taking on responsibilities and the nervousness of entering the profession as a licensed pharmacist. I am honored to be able to serve on the NPF Executive Committee to work alongside my peers who are experiencing similar excitement and nervousness at the beginning of our careers by providing resources, connections, and encouragement to make this journey fulfilling and rewarding.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner:
Brené Brown said: "Connection is the ability to recognize our shared humanity and to invite others into a sense of belonging and worthiness." ASHP provides many valuable resources for personal development and career advancement for new practitioners. One of the most priceless resources from ASHP is the platform it provides for all pharmacy professionals to connect. Through connection, we find shared meaning, collective wisdom, and unity to propel our profession and ourselves toward a bright future.
