Kossi Katchekpele is a rising second year Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at Notre Dame of Maryland University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Prior to pharmacy school, Kossi spent two years as an Associate Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, working on mRNA-lipid nanoparticle formulation. Additionally, he is in his fourth year as a pharmacy technician at Kaiser Permanente.
Kossi is passionate about bridging the gap between pharmaceutical science and patient care and understanding how policy and professional organizations shape the environment in which that care is delivered. Having seen pharmacy from both the manufacturing side and the dispensing counter, he is drawn to the advocacy layer that connects them.
Going into his P2 year at Notre Dame of Maryland University, Kossi has been elected to multiple leadership positions including Chair of the Student Senate Executive Committee, President-Elect of the student AMCP chapter, and APhA-ASP Operation OTC Co-Chair. He was also recently inducted into Pharmacy Leadership Society. These roles will help him grow as a communicator and collaborator and give him a clearer sense of what it means to show up for his peers, not just as a student, but as someone invested in the direction of the profession.
Outside of school, Kossi enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and outdoor sports.
