Student Leadership Roles
There are four student leadership roles within ASHP that offer a deeper level of engagement and impact. These roles provide the opportunity to represent student pharmacists at a national level, help shape programs and resources that support your peers, and collaborate directly with ASHP leaders.
Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee
The ASHP PSF Executive Committee is comprised of five student members. The Executive Committee advises the ASHP Board of Directors and staff on the overall direction of the forum, including member benefits and services, while representing the interests of student members.
- Forum Chair, Forum Vice Chair, and three Executive Committee members (each serving a 1-year term, appointed by the ASHP President-Elect)
- Applications are accepted annually from September through November.
Pharmacy Student Forum Advisory Groups
The ASHP PSF Advisory Groups provide advice and guidance to the Forum on the unique needs of student members and how these needs can be addressed through ASHP resources and programs.
- Advisory Group members (1-year term, appointed by the PSF Chair, with opportunities to reapply annually)
- Applications are accepted annually from February through April.
ASHP Councils
ASHP’s councils are the primary bodies responsible for initiating policies on professional issues. There are five councils: the Council on Education and Workforce Development, Council on Pharmacy Management, Council on Pharmacy Practice, Council on Public Policy, and Council on Therapeutics. Council recommendations are reviewed by the ASHP Board of Directors and ultimately acted upon by the ASHP House of Delegates.
Each council includes a designated pharmacy student member, ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented in the policy development process.

ASHP Commission on Affiliate Relations
The Commission on Affiliate Relations advises the ASHP Board of Directors on standards for affiliation, implementation of those standards, and strategies to strengthen affiliate relationships that support ASHP’s mission. The Commission on Affiliate Relations includes one pharmacy student member.
- One student member (1-year term, appointed by the ASHP President-Elect)
- Applications are accepted annually from September through November.
