SPEAKERS

Joe DiPiroJoseph T. DiPiro, Pharm.D. received his B.S. in Pharmacy (Honors College) from UConn and his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky.  He completed a residency at the UK Medical Center and a fellowship in clinical immunology at Johns Hopkins University. He served on the faculty of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy for 24 years, as executive dean at the South Carolina College of Pharmacy from 2005 to 2014 and dean at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2014 to 2022.  

James HoffmanJames M. Hoffman, Pharm.D., MS is the senior vice president for quality and safety and a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He provides oversight and leadership for patient safety across St. Jude.  In his role, Dr. Hoffman oversees St. Jude’s quality and safety programs.  He helps St. Jude conduct robust improvement science to improve patient care. He is also part of a research team that works to learn how to make care improvements quickly across multiple children’s hospitals. Dr. Hoffman was a core member of the team that created St. Jude’s Safe and Sound strategic plan, and he is particularly focused on helping St. Jude become an academic leader in quality, patient safety, and improvement science for children with catastrophic diseases.

Dan CobaughDaniel J. Cobaugh, Pharm.D., FAACT, DABAT  is the senior vice president of professional development and publishing at ASHP and the editor-in-chief of AJHP.  He has served on the ASHP staff since 2002. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University.  Cobaugh completed an ASHP-accredited residency in hospital pharmacy at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and a clinical toxicology fellowship at the Pittsburgh Poison Center.  He practiced as pharmacist-clinical toxicologist and held faculty appointments at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the University of Rochester Medical Center.
