Heart disease related costs in the United States amounted to nearly $239 billion between 2018 and 2019, and heart disease contributed to nearly 700,000 deaths. This activity will review the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of acute coronary syndromes and categorize the guideline-recommended pharmacologic management strategies for the treatment of unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction. These summaries will be supported by a review of the evidence that played a role in the development of these recommendations. CE for this episode expires two years after its original publication date.
