In this podcast episode, listeners will learn about the journey of few health-system specialty pharmacies and the need for the accreditation to support their clinical services and operations. In addition, listeners will also learn on how to continue the ongoing maintenance and compliance of the standards set by the accrediting body before the re-accreditation.

Lisa Kumor, PharmD, BCACP, is the accreditation and residency coordinator with Specialty Pharmacy Services at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System and clinical assistant professor with the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy. She serves as the residency program director for the Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program in Specialty Pharmacy. She serves as Chair of the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners’ SAG on Accreditation and Compliance for the 2021 – 2022 year.
Kristine Crawford, PharmD, is the specialty pharmacy manager for the Pacific Northwest division of CommonSpirit Health. She oversees operations and accreditation for the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Specialty Pharmacy in Seattle, WA and serves as a pharmacist advisor to Revenue Cycle. She attended pharmacy school at Washington State University and is currently pursuing her MBA at Indiana University Kelley School of Business. She is a member of the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Accreditation and Compliance.
Alicia Verret, PharmD, CSP, joined the Ochsner Health organization as a member of the Specialty Pharmacy team in 2016. Ochsner Specialty Pharmacy is a dual accredited specialty pharmacy with URAC and JCAHO accreditations. Alicia is a clinical pharmacist supervisor responsible for monitoring and coordinating clinical and distribution operations.
Rebecca Yoon, PharmD, CSP, CHC is the program director of quality/performance improvement for Specialty Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Her primary responsibilities include leading accreditation processes, overseeing the development of educational training, facilitating quality/compliance/safety initiatives, and managing other quality-related activities such as policy management, auditing, and REMS program participation.
Rushabh Shah is the associate director for University of Kentucky Specialty Pharmacy (UKSP). He oversees the Clinical Management across all the outpatient clinics within UK HealthCare for specialty medications, along with market access and managing URAC, ACHC and TJC accreditation. He received his BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences and PharmD from Purdue University and MBA from Goldey-Beacom College. He has certifications for the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, HIV Pharmacist (AAHIVP) and Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP).
