This podcast provides an engaging interview with two pharmacy leaders who have really leaned in to volunteering and serving in leadership roles, as well as pursuing Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency Training. Dr. Scott and Dr. Andoh will share their insights on their professional journeys as students, pharmacists and association leaders, as well as their perspectives on leadership opportunities to support the advancement of pharmacy practice.
SPEAKERS
Dr. Kofi Andoh is a PGY1/MS Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership (HSPAL) Resident at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin. Originally from Largo, MD, Dr. Andoh received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Howard University and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
Now a new practitioner, Dr. Andoh has been appointed to the ASHP Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residents’ Collaborative (PALRC) as Vice Chair of the Student & Resident Engagement workgroup.
Dr. Keyana Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spelman College and went on to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently matriculating through her second year of her PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency at Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas. In her free time, Keyana enjoys reading, spinning and spending time with loved ones.
David Chen is the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Assistant Vice President for Pharmacy Leadership and Planning. ASHP represents more than 60,000 members include pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. His role with ASHP includes coordinating efforts of ASHP members in advocacy, education on pharmacy leadership, continuity of care, manager development, reimbursement rules & regulations, specialty pharmacy, and multi-hospital health systems. His responsibilities include staff liaison to ASHP’s Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners, Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders, and Pharmacy Executive Leadership Alliance.
