- How is the competition winner determined?
The winner is determined by taking the total amount raised by a delegation and dividing it by the number of sitting delegates (not including alternates) to determine the state’s average contribution.
The three delegations with the highest average contributions will receive an award and recognition by the HOD Chair during the last meeting of the House. The Chair will also recognize states with at least 75 percent participation (including alternates).
- Do contributions by alternates count?
The contributions of alternate delegates are included in the total amount raised by the delegation and counted in the state’s participation rate. Alternates are included in the numerator but not the denominator when we calculate the state’s average contribution.
- Do contributions from past presidents and Section and Forum executive committees count towards the average contribution?
Only contributions from delegates and alternates are eligible for the competition, but we encourage unofficial competitions among these groups for bragging rights.
- What contributions count toward the competition?
All contributions made by delegates and alternates between January 1 and June 9 (5:00 p.m., ET) count toward the competition.
Recurring contributions made during the competition term will count 2x towards a state's total. Contributions tied to membership renewals must be made during the competition term.
- Is there a minimum contribution?
Contributions of any amount will count toward your state’s total. All contributing delegates will receive a gift to decorate their seats at the two meetings of the House of Delegates.
