Executive Committee

The role of the Section Executive Committee is to provide leadership, guidance, and advice to ASHP on ways to better meet the day to day practice needs of members.

Chair (2025-2026)

Ashley M. Parrott, PharmD, MBA, BCACP, BCPS

Ashley ParrottAshley Marie Parrott is the ambulatory clinical pharmacy manager at Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Parrott graduated from the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences before completing a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at the ProMedica Flower Hospital Family Medicine Residency. Parrott went on to complete her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation. She is board certified in ambulatory care and pharmacotherapy. Parrott’s leadership in ASHP includes service as chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners (SACP) Advisory Group (SAG) on Compensation and Practice Sustainability. During almost seven years of service to the SAG, she has contributed to multiple SACP resource documents and an ASHP webinar. Parrott also contributed to a SACP podcast in 2020 discussing the transition to telepharmacy services early in the COVID-19 pandemic. She has presented regionally for the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists and nationally at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting on ambulatory pharmacy services, including topics on service development and reimbursement. Parrott is a routine reviewer for the ASHP CV Review Program. Parrott serves as residency program director for an ASHP accredited PGY-2 ambulatory care residency program. Parrott was recognized with the Glen Sperandio Health System Pharmacist of the Year award for the state of Indiana in 2020 for her outstanding service in pharmacy practice, professional organizations, and to the community.

Immediate Past Chair (2025-2026)

Sara M. Panella, PharmD, BCPS, CPh

Sara M. PanellaSara M. Panella is the Director of Pharmacy, Population Health at Emory Healthcare. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, followed by a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a PGY-2 Specialty Residency in Drug Information at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/EMSOP.

Dr. Panella began her career in transitions of care (TOC) at the University of Maryland Medical Center and later developed TOC programs at Memorial Regional Hospital and Baptist Health South Florida, where she also advanced ambulatory care and population health initiatives.

She has held academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor at EMSOP and Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University, and served as Residency Program Director for a PGY-2 in Transitions of Care.

Nationally, Dr. Panella serves as a Board Member for the National Transitions of Care Coalition (NTOCC). She is actively involved with professional organizations, including the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP), where she founded and chaired the Ambulatory Care Ad Hoc Clinical Forum (2019–2021). She currently serves on the ASHP Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners (SACP) Executive Committee as Immediate Past Chair.

In recognition of her leadership and contributions to pharmacy practice, Dr. Panella was honored as a Fellow of both ASHP (FASHP) and FSHP (FFSHP) in 2025.

Chair Elect (2025-2026)

Canice A. Coan, PharmD, BCACP, DPLA

Canice A. CoanCanice A. Coan is the pharmacy supervisor for the Clinic Embedded Pharmacy Team at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.  Her responsibilities are centered around the development, implementation, and maintenance of ambulatory care pharmacy services as well as the oversight of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within the bariatrics, cardiology, endocrine, interstitial lung disease, and primary care clinics.  Additionally, she serves as the PGY2 ambulatory care residency Program director.  Coan graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy.  She went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency and a PGY2 ambulatory care residency at the William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.  For the past 10 years, Coan has served on the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Advisory Group on Clinical Practice Advancement as a member, Vice Chair (2023-2024), and chair (2024-2025).

Director-at-Large (2024-2026)

Daniel B. Truelove, PharmD, AAHIVP, BCACP, BCPS

Daniel TrueloveDaniel B. Truelove is the Director of Pharmacy for University Health Network at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he is responsible for leading ambulatory care pharmacy program development with a focus value-based care. He serves as a PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency preceptor (former Program Director) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. Truelove earned his PharmD from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, AL and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. As a practitioner, Truelove has implemented new clinical pharmacy services at multiple health systems, including specialty clinics and chronic disease management. Truelove’s leadership in ASHP includes serving as Immediate Past Chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Executive Committee, and Chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Section Advisory Group on Clinical Practice Advancement. He previously served on the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Section Advisory Group on Business Development, and the Section Advisory Group on Compensation and Practice Sustainability. Truelove has developed and contributed to multiple committees, networking sessions, resource documents, and ASHP Connect posts. He is a frequent presenter at ASHP meetings and other national meetings on ambulatory, specialty, and population health pharmacy topics. Truelove has led many statewide initiatives, including improved access to antiviral therapy for patients infected with HCV, pharmacist reimbursement as providers, and value-based care pharmacy curriculum.

Director-at-Large (2025-2027)

Jeff Olson, PharmD, MBA, BCACP

Jeff OlsonJeff Olson is the pharmacy population health director at Intermountain Health. With over 20 years of ambulatory care experience, Olson has practiced and led ambulatory care pharmacy services at Intermountain, helping expand services with a focus toward value-based care. In his current role, he leads population health strategy, growth, and operations for pharmacy services across the multi-state, integrated health system. He established the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program, serves as an active preceptor for PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and maintains an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. Olson earned his PharmD and MBA degrees from the University of Utah and completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at PeaceHealth Southwest in Vancouver, WA. He is board certified in ambulatory care. Olson’s leadership in ASHP includes serving as Vice Chair and Chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners (SACP) Advisory Group on Compensation and Practice Sustainability. He is a frequent speaker at ASHP meetings and webinars. He served as faculty for the ASHP Telehealth Certificate and has participated in several ASHP podcasts. Olson is an author of several ASHP Ambulatory Care Resource Center documents, ASHP Connect blog posts, and ASHP and AJHP publications. He was the recipient of the USHP Linda S. Tyler Innovative Practice of the Year Award in 2023 for leading efforts to establish a virtual hormonal contraception service in Utah. In 2021, he received the ASHP SACP Distinguished Service Award.

Director-at-Large Elect (2025-2026)

Allison (Allie) E. Fay, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CPP

Allison FayAllison (Allie) E. Fay is the director of ambulatory pharmacy services at The Family Health Centers in Asheville, NC. Fay received her PharmD from Ohio Northern University, then completed her PGY1 pharmacy practice residency with CCNC/UNC and PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy residency with MAHEC/UNC. During PGY2 residency, Fay established clinical pharmacy services at her practice and has been in her current role since 2018, expanding the pharmacy team to include another clinical pharmacist and two technicians.

In her role, Fay provides team-based chronic disease management and assists with Medicare annual wellness visits, high-risk transitions of care, and medication access. She oversees the pharmacy technicians, prior authorization and medication refill departments, and medication focused quality metrics. Fay also precepts fourth-year pharmacy students and UNC Rural Health Scholars.

Fay currently serves as chair for the SACP Advisory Group (SAG) on Compensation and Practice Sustainability and has been a member since 2019, previously serving as vice chair. She’s also served on the SAG for Clinical Practice Advancement and the New Practitioners Forum - Membership and Outreach Advisory Group. During her SAG involvement, she contributed to several ASHP resource documents and podcasts and served as faculty for the ASHP Billing and Reimbursement for Patient Care Clinical Services and the Quality Improvement for Pharmacy Professionals certificates. She presents a variety of ambulatory care topics locally, regionally, and nationally. She’s also served as director-at-large for the NC Association of Pharmacists Ambulatory Care Academy. In 2022, she was recognized as North Carolina’s Distinguished Young Pharmacist.

Ashley Boedecker, PharmD, MBA

Ashley BoedeckerAshley Boedecker serves as a Director of Member Relations at ASHP and is staff liaison to the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners. Prior to this role, Ashley was the Director of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services at Advocate Aurora Health (AAH). She received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Following graduation, Ashley completed her PGY1 and PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration residency at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
