NPF Executive Committee Message August 2024

Alfred Awuah, PharmD, MS, BCPS

August 2024

Hi New Practitioners!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 year in the New Practitioners Forum! I hope you have had an exciting summer filled with sun, travel, and new opportunities. Whether you’re fresh off a pharmacy school graduation (congratulations Class of 2024!) or returning for another fulfilling year, you will find NPF to be your professional home as you navigate the first five years of pharmacy practice.

The mission of the Forum is to optimize member experiences and engagement within ASHP by providing a community and collective voice for new practitioners as they transition into pharmacy practice. At the center of this mission is our membership comprised of hundreds of individuals across the country representing diverse backgrounds and practice areas. Our unique members are what makes NPF a special community. Engaging with new practitioners during in-person meetings and virtual platforms is one of the many benefits of being involved in the Forum.

Your needs are important to us as a new practitioner. The Forum contains six different advisory groups comprised of volunteers that help support the NPF mission by providing resources and opportunities in career and leadership development, clinical practice, membership and outreach, personal development, practice advancement and advocacy, and resident advancement. Congratulations to all those appointed to an advisory group! Serving on an advisory group is just one of the many ways members can get involved in NPF, including serving as a CV reviewer in the CV Review Program or publishing in the dedicated New Practitioners Column in AJHP.

We have several exciting opportunities planned for this year, so be sure to follow the NPF account on X (formerly Twitter) @ASHP_NPF for the latest NPF news and resources. You can also join in on the conversation through ASHP Connect.

I'm looking forward to an eventful year and connecting with you all!

Sincerely,

Alfred Awuah, PharmD, MS, BCPS
