February 2026
Happy New Year, New Practitioners!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that 2026 is off to a great start. February and March are exciting and busy months for new practitioners. As you navigate these demands, I encourage everyone to prioritize time to recharge and engage in activities that support your well-being and bring you joy.
To all the residency applicants this year, congratulations on submitting your residency applications. As you enter the next stage leading up to Match Day, I know things can feel hectic and even overwhelming. I encourage you to explore the ASHP Residency Resources page, which includes helpful information on interview preparation, creating your rank list, and navigating the Match process. Most importantly, remember to follow your heart when finalizing your rank list. Match Day is on March 18 this year, and I wish the best of luck to everyone participating.
For those who may experience an unfavorable Match outcome and choose to move forward with Phase II, the ASHP New Practitioner Forum will be host a Phase II Residency Roundtable on March 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM ET, to provide guidance, share experiences, and offer support as you navigate the process. You can register for the webinar today. In the meantime, feel free to submit any questions you may have regarding Phase II using the online form.
Additionally, ASHP continues to offer valuable tools, learning opportunities, and professional development resources through the ASHP New Practitioner Resource Center for those already established in their careers. In particular, the ASHP Career TransitionToolkit and CV Transition Toolkit offers resources to guide you when applying for your first position after residency or when considering a job change. I encourage you to explore these offerings as you continue to grow in your professional journey.
Lastly, if you or someone you know would like to be featured on ASHP’s social media pages to share why you are involved with ASHP or an ASHP state affiliate, we would love you to complete the ASHP Spotlight Survey.
Have a great 2026!
